Paper or electronic Claims
If you are a contracting organization that participates in one or more of the following Child Nutrition Programs you can file either a paper or electronic claim.
- Child and Adult Care Food Program (CACFP)
- National School Lunch Program (NSLP)
- School Breakfast Program (SBP)
- Special Milk Program (SMP)
- Summer Food Service Program (SFSP)
Claims submitted by the deadlines below will be processed for payment the following week:
- 12 p.m. (noon) Monday for claims submitted by (fax or mail)
- 6 p.m. Monday for claims submitted electronically (via SNAPS)
Paper Claims
If you are a contracting organization that participates in one or more of the following Programs. You can only file a paper claim.
- Texas Commodity Assistance Program (TEXCAP)
- Commodity Supplemental Food Program (CSFP)
Tips for Filing Claims
Below are common errors made when filing claims. These errors can delay your claim by a week or more.
- Submitting incorrect, incomplete, and/or illegible claims.
- Using the incorrect mailing address or fax number.
- Using the incorrect version of the Form H1532. (paper claims only)
- Not providing the correct contract number (the 75 number).
- Not providing the correct Program Number (the TX number assigned by the contract manager).
- Mailing your claim if you fax it or submit it electronically via SNAPS. This is a duplication of the same document.To verify receipt of your fax or electronic submittal contact the FND Food and Nutrition Division.
When calling the Food and Nutrition Division, be sure to have your contract and program numbers available.
