The U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) Food Safety and Inspection Service maintains a "Recall Information Center" that collects and disseminates information regarding the recall of foods and commodities.
Recalls are voluntary actions carried out by industry in cooperation with federal and state agencies. Products are recalled when found to be contaminated, adulterated, or misbranded. Recalls of meat and poultry products that are produced by federally inspected establishments are coordinated and monitored by the Food Safety and Inspection Service.
You may view a listing of recalls that are still in progress by visiting the Active Recall Cases. When a recall is completed, it will be removed from this listing, but will be included in the Recall Case Archive.
